I hope you did not miss the opportunity to see at least one of the performances put up by the Theatre CCA under Dr Menke. ‘Lord Arthur Seviles Verbrechen’ by Oscar Wilde was staged dashingly and entertainingly and was very well played by our students. Thank you very much to everyone who was involved on stage and backstage.
We have achieved a lot this year. We have finalised many projects, created plans and approved them, introduced a cross-sectional steering committee, initiated the partnership with a school in Bavaria and the Junior Engineer Academy. With all these activities, it has always been important to me to connect all departments and our staff members with each other and involve parents and students in the process.
I am very happy about the increasing student numbers for the upcoming academic year. We are experiencing a 7 – 9 % increase of students in the Pre-School, German Section and the European Section compared to the same time last year and we will start at the new campus on Dairy Farm Lane with over 1600 students.
We will manage the move to the new campus, while our students enjoy their well-deserved holidays. School starts again on 16 August for all students and our staff members will be in school from 6 August for the induction week. I hope that you will all be relaxed from the holidays then and looking forward to the new environment.
As you know, this will be my last school year at GESS. The reasons for me being at the school for a relatively short time have nothing to do with the school itself and are of a private nature.
I wish you and your family nice holidays and I am looking forward to see you again in August.
