Grade 11 European Section and German Section students recently participated in the annual GESS Careers Information Exchange, an event at which they learned more about possible academic and career pathways. A team of GESS parents volunteered to join us in the IES hall for the morning, working with small groups of students and talking about their own educational and career experiences. The presenters shared knowledge of a broad range of qualifications and careers, with students selecting their preferred presentations in advance. Feedback from the students suggests that the expertise on offer was extremely valuable; it will certainly help them with the process of planning for life after graduating from GESS.
We’d like to thank the GESS parents (and a group of recent GESS graduates) who gave us their valuable time to meet with our Grade 11 students. Ms Wanda Preiser, the main organiser of the event, deserves a special thank you for her hard work in coordinating this year’s CIE.
