Football: Our 12U girls have a tough season finale schedule with five fixtures in only a few days. Last week, they lost a difficult match-up against Singapore American School (2:4 after a 2:0 lead), but came back in strong fashion the day after and celebrated a 6:0 victory over Dover Court. Meanwhile, the boys just keep winning and have a 7 out of 7 streak after beating UWC East (3:1) and Australian School (2:0). Make sure to support the team at their gold medal match on Monday, 14 May, against Nexus (4:45pm at Swiss Club Pitch)!
Basketball: Both 14U teams are performing amazingly well this season but keep missing that extra bit of luck. The 14U girls‘ team had a strong away win at UWC Dover but lost a few days later in overtime against Tanglin Trust School. The boys kept the upper hand against Stamford but then suffered two defeats against Canadian International School and Anglo-Chinese School.
Track & Field: GESS sent a strong squad of 39 junior athletes to take part in the ACSIS Junior School Championships at St. Joseph’s, and all of them gave their very best and represented the school with outstanding commitment and pride. Coach Hutchins and Coach Leighton were delighted by the convincing performances of our young athletics students. Most notably, Maya Pracht took home the 200m gold medal by setting a new ACSIS record for her age group. She grabbed another gold over 80m and our 10U girls’ sprint relay team also came in first place. Team GESS finished in 6th place overall which is a remarkable result in a highly competitive field.
