This week the traditional VIP Gold Concert took place in the IES Hall. It was my pleasure to be there and I hope that the 150 others in the audience enjoyed watching about 33 young musicians and other, not so young, musicians present with passion all that they have learned since August 2017. Thank you very much to the music teachers and coordinators for their great work with these future professional musicians. I am looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the upcoming concerts, exhibitions, competitions and theatre performances. Our students are very proud to show us what they have learned since the beginning of the school year. Let us watch their performances and make them happy.
Thank you very much to the yearbook team. I was holding the first yearbook print in my hands this week and I can assure you that we can once again look forward to a very successful work of art.
It is quite easy to verbally commit to protect the environment. But very often these are only resolutions and a suffering planet unfortunately already shows this very clearly. Our yearbook team has set a good example regarding sustainability this year with a great idea and the necessary perseverance. We are introducing the pre-order system. Thank you very much to the team for this effort.
Dr Menke, three colleagues from other German schools abroad and I, have worked on the suggestions for the Abitur exams in the German subject for 2019 and we are almost done. I was very impressed with their preparation and their work attitude and I am proud that we are one of the first work groups for the Abitur 2019, who have finalised the exam suggestions.
I wish you and your family a good week.
