Basketball: Our GESS 14U boys were on fire as they went against the Global Indian School for their second season game. After four quarters of high-speed basketball, the scoreboard displayed 43 to 13 points for GESS. Well done, boys!
Football: It has been a truly successful football season for GESS so far, with both 12U teams keeping hot winning streaks alive. The girls earned a superb 3:0 home win against UWC Dover in which they defended well and pulled off a tactical masterstroke. Both Aspmair sisters managed to put down their names on the scorers’ list. Meanwhile, the boys’ team was not any less impressive, winning their away game at Tanglin Trust School with a score of 4:1. In an off-season event, the 14U girls took part in the inaugural Unity Football League tournament which was organised to promote girls’ football in Singapore.
Badminton: Without a doubt, it was a tough week for the 16U girls’ team. The badminton ladies suffered two incredibly close losses against Global Indian School and Anglo-Chinese School. Coach Melanie was, nonetheless, quite proud of her players’ performances, emphasising that this is the first ever competitive season for some of them. Better luck this week!
