Here are 3 reasons why GESS's new campus is both bigger and better.
Slated to be open in August 2018, the new grounds of GESS are in a familiar area for existing students and their families: Situated on Dairy Farm Lane, it will be close to the GESS Main Campus at Bukit Tinggi Road and its Junior School Campus at Jalan Jurong Kechil.
1) Functional Design
The new campus can accommodate up to 2,000 students and 300 teaching staff. It's improved technological services and facilities are strategically placed within the campus layout in consideration of the student flow and environmental conditions. You can look forward to: a Design & Technology Centre, Makers' Space, Cooking Lab, 400-seat auditorium, fully equipped gymnasium within a sports complex, as well as its recording studio and VIP Centre where the school's popular Vocal and Instrumental Programme will be held.
2) Keeps with Tradition
Even with this newer, larger site, not-for-profit GESS will stay true to its focus on building an education rooted in German and European foundations. It will continue to offer the German and English IB curriculum to students from 18 months to 18 years of age, and will continue to celebrate the diversity of languages, cultures and traditions as well as maintain a sense of belonging. This is made easier with the joining of two student bodies from both its campuses.
3) Convenient Location
The new campus will be easy to find and access: The Downtown Line Hillview MRT Station is within walking distance, and there will be a public bus stop in front of the school. There's also a planned expansion of a bicycle network in the area, making cycling a cost-effective and convenient option for getting to and around the area. Bonus: The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is nearby, so students can readily acquaint themselves with Mother Nature!
