What:

Camp Magic is a full day arts-based holiday program that offers multiple activities to children 4-12 years.

We focus on one story each week that is re-created through artworks, craft, circus, drama - even stilt walking! A performance is held on Friday afternoons for parents and families to join in the fun. Staff performance Monday mornings.

Our outdoor program features soccer, hula hooping, poi spinning, trick stick twirling, stilt walking, juggling, plate spinning, and crafting.

The indoor program includes drama games, song making, ukulele, drumming, movement, art and craft projects, Little Lands (recycled jump emporium).

What:

The art camp is about being creative whilst having fun. Students use acrylic paint, water colours, pastels, crayons, pens, pencils, clay and paper mâché to create their own original eye catching art. Each student is provided with their own sketch book and all materials are provided. Healthy snack are provided, but please bring a water bottle and wear old clothes as we get messy!

Badminton camp for all ages (6-18 years old)

Introduction to fundamental technique and movement in badminton for those who are new to the sport. Players will learn the rules of the game and engage in fun games that will help develop their psychomotor abilities.

Improving badminton skills and tactical awareness of those who have some exposure in badminton. Refining techniques through a series of multiple shuttle feeding and game-like drills.

Mini competition on the last day to see how the players have fare. Promote competitive spirit in a fun and friendly manner!

What:

Marsden Swim Camp is an opportunity to really progress your swim technique with a program that has run in Singapore for over 20 years. Each day we shall focus on Technique across the 4 strokes in small groups, including starts, turns and underwater work. We shall also integrate yoga/ stretching towards swimming and of course games and fun across the 5 days. This is a chance to take your swimming to the next level in a fun, professional camp with experienced coaches who love what they do.

Basic Level (age 6-9): This camp will introduce kids to kitchen essential tools and teach BASIC culinary skills so they can start to find their way around the kitchen. Each day we will make delicious snack and lunch together to put these skills learned into practice. They will be introduced to skills e.g. Basic Kitchen Hygiene, Spreading, Measuring ingredients, Cracking eggs, 5 ways of stirring, Peeling and more.

Intermediate Level (age 10-12): This camp will introduce kids to kitchen essential tools and teach kids culinary INTERMEDIATE skills so they can start to work their way around the kitchen. Each day we will make delicious snack and lunch together to put the skills learned into practice. Learn to Play provides the entry level of skill learning for student wish to learn how to play Water Polo. It covers the fundamental of these Aquatic Sport and the basic skills at the Beginners stage of sport development, respectively for Water Polo. What:

Have your kids ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater?

The Discover Scuba Diving Programme for Children (ages 8 and above) is a quick and easy introductory programme for kids venturing something different this year underwater.

Although this is not a scuba certification course, participants will learn all the steps it takes to be a PADI certified diver.

Under the direct supervision of PADI Professionals, participants will:

• Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like underwater
• Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater and how to be comfortable while doing so
• Learn some basic rescue skills and safety rules that will carry over to their full scuba certification course when they take the next step to become Junior Open Water Divers (ages 10 and above)
• Understand the importance of marine conservation

At the end of the one-week programme, participants will be assessed on their understanding of diving concepts and various techniques through a series of games and quizzes.

Daily Itinerary:

Day 1 - Learning About Dive Equipment, Basic Scuba Skill & Skin-Diving Skill

• You’ll be given an overview of what Basic Scuba Diving Skill Diving is all about, as well as learn how the various Diving Equipment work
• Practice gearing up in the pool with the assistance of our dive instructors. Student will also get to try out how various equipment works underwater
• Skin diving is snorkelling while making breath-hold dives. You’ll learn how to comfortably venture underwater for short periods

Day 2 - Buoyancy Control & Cardio

• You will learn how Buoyancy affects scuba divers and what divers need to know to properly control it thru games associated with Buoyancy
• We’ll learn about building strength and conditioning through varied Cardio workouts, so that you’ll consume less air and won’t get tired out too quick during dives

Day 3 - Basic Rescue & First Aid Skill

• You will learn basic in-water Rescue Skills
• Basic First Aid skills, you will learn simple steps for emergency care, and practice your first aid skills

Day 4 - Marine Conservation & Underwater Wellness

• Learn more about the Coral reef Conservation, its habitat and how we can all help conserve these vital systems
• You’ll learn how to dive conscientiously to minimise the impact on marine ecosystems

Day 5 - Finale & Quiz/Games

• We’ll revise the various Cardio exercises learnt in Day 2, and then learn more breathing techniques
• You will be tested on your understanding for the Camp based on what the student learnt for the past 4 days thru small quiz test. There will be some underwater games to assess your understanding and ability to apply diving techniques underwater

During this camp, children are immersed in the German language through games and activities, designed to entertain and educate. The objective of this camp is not only to practise German, but also to actively improve each child’s expressive language skills with native German speaking teachers facilitating the children throughout the day.

Requirement: Children need to have a good understanding of the German Language. This is to ensure they will be able to comprehend and communicate with the teachers and peers comfortably. No English will be spoken. Only limited spots are available. First come first served.

Teachers: Our very own GESS Preschool teachers will lead the children in fun activities and supervised free play time throughout the programme.
