A Day in Pre-School

The timetables provided are examples of what children may experience but there is a great amount of flexibility that allows us to connect with and build upon children’s needs and interests.

Exploratory Learning

During this time, the children are invited to explore their world, formulate thoughts, share ideas and construct meaning through play. Learning may occur inside or outside, with explorations even extending into the shared pod spaces. Educators carefully observe the children in order to incorporate each child's interest and ideas into the learning experiences designed by our expert faculty.

Morning Meeting

Each morning the children begin their day together. This is a moment to create a community of learners as each child develops social and communication skills. The children sing songs, listen to stories, discuss their ideas and feelings while building on the ongoing learning occurring in the group.

Specialised Learning

As a Pre-School that embraces "The 100 Languages of Children," specialised learning in a meaningful and integrated way allows children to explore different mediums to express their evolving ideas about the world. Throughout the language of ‘The Arts’, children can express themselves through moving their bodies, sounds and music. They may explore the world through nature or digital learning experiences.

Reflection

After a morning of learning and shared experiences, this final reflection provides children with the opportunity to internalise their experiences with the support and guidance of our trained educators. This final moment of the day also allows for the children to come together one last time, building the sense of community valued by the school.

Rest and Relaxation

This is the opportunity for children to take a break and regain energy for the afternoon. The Pre-School recognizes that each child has specific needs during rest time and will try to accommodate individual requirements to the best of our ability.
