GESS CENTRE FOR EXCELLENCE

WHAT IS IT?

A GESS initiative to create opportunities for our talented and high-potential students, to enable them to become outstanding and exceptional in their areas of talent spanning across sciences, engineering, technology, mathematics, arts, sports, music and more! Students will be able to achieve a strong standing and the competitive edge they need to be able to pursue their aspirations beyond their school years.

Our Approach

Ensuring Teachers Are Professionally Equipped to Support Talented Students

Putting Screening and Testing Methodology in Place to Identify Talented Students

Offering Opportunities, Programmes and Initiatives for Targeted Talent Development

Establishing a Consultative Partnership with Parents

Joining External Talent Networks to Widen Opportunities

We Develop Ourselves to Develop Your Child

GESS teachers and Heads of Department receive regular professional development in order for them to be the best they can possibly be in supporting talented students' specific needs.

We Proactively Identify Talent

We carry out periodic screening to systematically identify high-potential and talented students. Homeroom teachers are also trained to spot such students. Wherever necessary, students will undergo tests and screening.

We Create the Pivotal Opportunities

We Create the Pivotal Opportunities

We take a holistic approach to grooming talent. Starting in the classroom, teachers give students differentiated tasks and where suitable, students can also study subjects at higher levels. Additionally, we assign selected students strength-oriented mentors and also invite them to tap into the school's many programmes and partnerships with university and industry-level partners.

We Partner With Parents

We guide parents to understand how to best support and develop their high-potential and talented children. From counselling and consulting services for parents to information sessions with national and international experts, we hope to equip parents with resources that could be useful.

We Connect With External Networks

GESS is an Associate Member and the European Talent Support Network (ETSN)'s only talent point in Asia. ETSN has 25 Talent Centres worldwide and almost 400 Talent Points from 44 countries all around the world.

We also have partnerships with Technical University of Munich (TUM) Asia and Junior Engineer Academy Network to expand our STEM offerings.
