Programmes for Middle School

Unique learning opportunities and after-school programmes for our middle school students

At GESS International School, we believe in empowering our middle school students with the freedom to grow and develop their interests beyond the curriculum. We offer our students both integrated and after-school programmes including competitive sports and over 100 after-school and co-curricular activities (CCA). Our programmes are taught by professional tutors and educators who mentor and guide our students to discover their passions as well as build confidence.

New Electives Programme

GESS is one of a few international schools in Singapore that offer an integrated Electives Programme that gives our students the opportunity to pursue their passions, develop new skills and become more independent.

All middle school students choose an elective from our weekly Friday afternoon programme (2 lessons). Electives are taught by GESS teachers, who engage and challenge students to explore talents and passions and develop new skills. The current options are:

Service as Action programme

We inspire our students into inquiry as they identify, research and implement solutions to real-life problems. Students develop and participate in three activities per year of which one must be an independent project.

GESS students are encouraged to take initiative and action by using their abilities and talents to respond to current global and local issues and show cultural awareness.

The GESS Service as Action programme enables our students to take on challenges that develop new skills including planning and working collaboratively with others.
