GESS International School in Singapore is home to over 200 professional educators from over 30 different nationalities. On average our educators teach at GESS for five years and a number of our senior leadership team have worked at GESS for over 10 years.


Qualifications and Experience

As an applicant, to teach the German curriculum, you need to have completed your teacher training (1. and 2. state examination or equivalent degree from Austria or Switzerland). You need to be a German native speaker and possess a very good command of English, as well as confident computer skills. For opportunities in the English-speaking IB curriculum, you need to have completed a national or international teacher training qualification. Experience with the IBO programmes PYP, MYP and DP is highly desirable. Knowledge of the German language is not required but is advantageous.

If you are applying for a teaching position at our GESS Preschool, we expect you to have completed your training as a preschool teacher or to possess comparable educational qualifications. We accept applications throughout the year.

When we hire

The resource planning for a school year commences up to a year in advance so that initial job advertisements are usually published between September and December for positions commencing in August of the following year.

The interview process can start as early as October and will comprises of Video interviews as well as face-to-face interviews on Campus for those candidates residing in Singapore at the point of application.

However, we also have to fill vacancies at short notice and therefore regularly publish advertisements for academic positions throughout the academic year.
