Council for Private Education (CPE) & Student Passes
Established under the Private Education Act (PEA), the Council for Private Education (CPE) is a statutory board sanctioned with the legislative power to regulate the private education sector. Every private educational institutions in Singapore has to be registered with CPE.
Since June 2011, GESS has been registered with the Council of Private Education under the Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF), as set out under the Private Education Act and the Private Education Regulations, and is permitted to accept students on Student Passes. The EduTrust Certification Scheme is voluntarily and, by special grant of Singapore government, GESS is exempt from the legislation that only EduTrust certified schools are allowed to accept students on student passes.
