Kits for Kids
A Primary School project
GESS supports an impressive mission as part of the "Kits for Kids" project: Meggi Macoun and Shane Granger are sailing with their historic ship "Vega" back and forth between Java and Osttimor, transporting relief supplies to far out islands. After the tsunami in 2004, they started their first "mission of compassion".
Every year, our Primary School students pack schoolbags or small backpacks with pencils, paper and learning supplies, as well as paintings and letters for the children on the islands. This establishes contact between the children. It makes our Primary School students especially proud to be able to personally hand these schoolbags and backpacks over on board of the "Vega". On the islands, in turn, the joy of the children is overwhelming upon reception of the pencils, notepads and footballs.
