Four students – Julian Kremb (E-9f), Kira Hentschel (E-10f), Lorraine Wirtz (G-10a) and Florian Winkler (G-10a) – had the honour to represent the GESS as the only international school between 250 local schools at the "Singapore Youth Sports"- Conference relating to the upcoming "Youth Olympic Games". The conference was held from May 25th to May 27th, 2010. Interesting sport relating lectures as, for instance, strength and endurance training or the connection of sport and academic achievements had the main place on the agenda. Through the lectures and numerous activities with the Singaporean peers the Olympic values as friendship, excellence and respect were brought closer to us – this was exactly the intention of the conference.
