Thank you so much for taking time from your busy schedule for hosting our visit to GESS. It must have been difficult to arrange for us to visit all the different age groups in your kindergarten. All the host teachers were very gracious in sharing their classroom practices with us and it was a very valuable learning experience. On arriving in Singapore from Australia we considered several schools and visited many many, many schools before making the important decision of choosing the German European School. One of the single most important reasons for choosing the school was their emphasis on music, we loved the idea of the strings program, commencing in year 3, and were similarly delighted with the array of instrument lessons that were available during the school hours. The music program is clearly an important part of the GESS curriculum and music is given its due importance, moreover the strings and wind programs are innovative and a wonderful way to introduce children to music. This together with the IB world program, the friendly staff and quiet surroundings sold us on the school, and we have no regrets, the children are loving it. Several people ask why being from Australia we chose the school, when I tell them these reasons they are pretty well impressed!

GESS has prepared my two daughters very well for a nationally rated public American high school. Both girls took placement tests over the last week [...] and both will be in the top level of their classes. German is one of the favourite classes of my oldest daughter. Instead of feeling intimidated, she is exhilarated and encouraged by the other upper-class students and the teacher who all seem to admire her knowledge and determination. I want to thank the teachers at GESS for encouraging her with her German studies and for allowing her to be challenged at the higher level at GESS.

Project week: Just wanted to let you know that I had a great time with Bryce going round the world today - what a wonderful presentation by all the various groups. I was also really impressed on how enthusiastic the children were and the integration between the German and EuroSec teams. Well done!

Short-term student: Victoria sure did make many good friends in school and enjoyed the lessons with the teachers at GESS. We appreciate you assistance in organizing her visit. We will be in contact with you again should she decide to return again in the near future.
