Campus Facilities
The German European School Singapore (GESS) has two campuses located near to the Bukit Timah and Bukit Batok Nature Reserves respectively. Our modern campuses are situated among lush greenery, creating a pleasant and stimulating learning environment.
Main Campus
The Pre-School Department and Secondary Schools of both sections located on this campus have their own buildings and recreational areas, as well as shared areas such as the Forum and playground to create a community feel to the school campus.
Primary School Campus
In August 2008, following a thorough, "green" renovation, GESS proudly opened the doors of its new Primary School campus on Jalan Jurong Kechil which is now home to the students of both the German and European Sections from grade 1 to 5.

The green, open space and playing areas allow our students to move around and have fun also during their break time!

Classrooms
All classrooms are bright and air-conditioned, linked by a campus wide high-speed computer network with Internet access for all students and equipped with appropriate audiovisual equipment and resources. At the Main campus we have some 56 classrooms at an average of 50.7m2 each, plus specialist rooms as detailed below. The Primary Campus is equipped with 33 dedicated classrooms at an average of 51.8m2 each plus specialist rooms and areas as detailed below.

Technology and ICT
We are a Microsoft Windows based school, with computers and peripherals such as printers, scanners, DVD players, digital cameras, video, and Notebooks.All grade levels have access to the Internet via their classrooms, as well as through the ICT labs, library or our wireless network. As of grade 9 upwards students purchase their own laptop through school as part of the school's laptop programme, integrating it into their every day classroom learning. Students and parents can access the OurGESS intranet to get homework assignments, check on upcoming tests or just view the latest changes in their timetable.

Specialist Rooms
GESS has a total of 5 art, 4 music, 4 ICT and 4 science rooms spread over our two campuses.

In addition to our group music rooms, GESS has 10 practice rooms dedicated to our Vocal and Instrumental programme that are equipped with various and often unusual instruments, such as a harp and ukulele!
Library
Each campus has a modern library with a total of over 40,000 volumes. You have access to our Online Library where you can find books of any topic. We offer anything and everything from graded readers to fairy tales, fictions and non-fiction books. Our trained librarians and assistants encourage reading on all levels, helping students to find books they really enjoy.

Primary students can join in the much-loved story telling sessions twice a week during the lunch time break.
Sports
We offer our students an modern, indoor multipurpose gymnasium which is used for a variety of organized leagues, competitions and CCAs (Co-curricular Activities) throughout the year.
For swimming, our Primary School Campus has a junior pool and our pre-school and secondary students at the Main Campus use a larger competition size swimming pool. We also have shaded and unshaded outdoor playgrounds and play areas for the younger children at both campuses.

Our well-stocked schoolshop on the Main Campus offers you the opportunity of purchasing school books and class materials. You can also purchase GESS school uniform which is worn from Pre-School onwards, or simply drop by for a coffee!
Our Primary Campus shop carries a smaller selection for student’s every day needs.

Transportation Services and Safety
KAL T&T is our school transport provider, who provides coverage to the main island. All seats in every busare fully equipped with safety belts and have bus attendants on board. In addition, the school bus service also offers home drop off after the CCAs ending at 4.30 pm, which is included in the bus fee. Please click here for more information (PDF).
Each campus has a first aid room staffed by qualified personnel to provide first-aid and help to students who fall ill whilst at school.

Canteen
Both campus canteens are operated by Food Haven. They offer students a choice of freshly prepared, balanced hot or cold meals and snacks. The canteen at the Main Campus operates from during term times from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, the canteen at the Primary School Campus from 8:00 am to 2:45 pm.
